The 2025 Kia Stonic Facelift: A Compact SUV Reinvented for a Competitive Market

Since its debut in 2017, the Kia Stonic has carved out a respectable position in the highly competitive subcompact SUV (B-SUV) segment. But with fresh contenders flooding the market each year, Kia knew the time had come to give its urban crossover a bold new identity. The 2025 Kia Stonic facelift brings sharper styling, cutting-edge technology, and enhanced driver-assistance systems — ensuring the model remains a top choice for city drivers and young families.

A more dynamic exterior design

The facelift introduces a sleeker, EV-inspired aesthetic, borrowing design cues from Kia’s latest electric models like the EV6 and EV9. At the front, redesigned LED headlights merge seamlessly into a more sculpted grille, while the rear gains C-shaped LED taillights that extend into a cleaner tailgate. The redesigned bumpers not only refresh its sporty character but also increase the length by 65 mm (2.6 inches), now totaling 4,165 mm (164 inches). Despite this, the Stonic still maintains one of the most compact footprints in its class, making it perfect for urban driving.

Buyers can now choose from two new exterior colors — Adventurous Green and Yacht Blue — along with new 16- and 17-inch alloy wheel designs that elevate the SUV’s road presence.

Overhauled interior with digital innovation

Inside, Kia has completely redesigned the cabin, focusing on technology and comfort. The dashboard now integrates a dual 12.3-inch digital cockpit, offering crisp visuals and customizable displays. Physical climate controls have been removed, with A/C and heating functions now integrated into the central touchscreen.

Other upgrades include:

  • A modern flat-bottom steering wheel.
  • Ambient lighting for a premium feel.
  • A wireless charging pad for smartphones.
  • Multiple USB-C ports for faster connectivity.

The boot capacity remains unchanged at 352 liters (12.4 cubic feet), but clever storage solutions make it versatile for daily use.

Enhanced technology & safety

The facelift also brings Kia’s latest connected car features and an expanded ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) suite, including:

  • Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC).
  • Highway Driving Assist (HDA) for semi-autonomous driving.
  • Blind-spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA).
  • Safe Exit Warning (SEW) to protect passengers when exiting the vehicle.

With these updates, the Stonic bridges the gap between affordability and premium tech, targeting young professionals, small families, and eco-conscious urban drivers.

A compact SUV that stands out

By combining bold design, smart connectivity, and advanced safety features, the 2025 Kia Stonic proves it is more than just a facelift — it is a complete reimagining of what a subcompact SUV should be. In a market where competitors like the Renault Captur, Peugeot 2008, and Hyundai Bayon are pushing boundaries, Kia ensures the Stonic stays relevant and appealing.
