Porsche Cayenne EV Coupe : Sleeker All-Electric SUV with Over 1,000 HP Coming in 2026

Porsche is doubling down on electrification. While the brand will continue selling the combustion-powered Cayenne alongside its new EV variant, buyers will soon have the choice of not one, but two all-electric Cayenne body styles—the SUV and the sportier Cayenne Coupe EV. Recently caught testing nearly undisguised, the Coupe version promises to combine Porsche’s signature performance with futuristic design and cutting-edge technology.
A Fresh, Modern Design
The Cayenne Coupe EV shares much of its DNA with the standard Cayenne EV but adopts a sleeker, more dynamic silhouette. The front fascia features redesigned headlights and a lower grille with adjustable horizontal slats, flanked by aggressive air curtains. Black fenders and rocker panels give this prototype a rugged touch, though many expect Porsche will offer body-colored options for a more premium look.

At the rear, the Coupe showcases a raked roofline, steep decklid, and new LED taillights. Spy shots suggest a pixelated lighting signature, though production models will likely adopt a continuous light bar for a cleaner aesthetic, echoing design cues from the Porsche Taycan and Macan EV.
Built on the PPE41C Platform
Underpinning the Cayenne EV lineup is Porsche’s heavily modified PPE41C architecture, developed in collaboration with Audi but tailored specifically for Porsche’s performance ambitions. Central to the setup is a 113 kWh pouch-cell battery pack, co-engineered with LG. The pack is cooled on both sides for maximum efficiency and performance.
This system enables ultra-fast 400 kW DC charging, allowing a 10-80% top-up in just 16 minutes. With support for NACS (North American Charging Standard), Porsche projects an estimated range of 370 miles, positioning the Cayenne EV as one of the longest-range luxury electric SUVs on the market.
Charging Made Effortless
Porsche will also introduce a Wireless Charging system for the Cayenne EV family. The optional 11 kW inductive pad, operating at 90% efficiency, allows cable-free charging. The SUV automatically lowers its suspension, aligns itself with the charging pad, and begins replenishing the battery—all controllable via smartphone app or pre-set schedules.
Extreme Power : Over 1,000 HP
Performance remains at the heart of Porsche’s DNA. Entry-level Cayenne EV models will start with 400 hp, while S variants will deliver between 600 and 700 hp. The range-topping Turbo models of both SUV and Coupe trims are expected to hit or even exceed 1,000 horsepower, making them some of the most powerful electric SUVs ever produced.
Practicality isn’t forgotten: the Cayenne EV will offer a towing capacity of 7,716 lbs (3,500 kg), ensuring that performance and utility can coexist. To enhance driving theater, Porsche is developing an optional synthetic sound package, allowing the Cayenne EV to mimic anything from futuristic electric tones to a throaty V8 rumble.
Launch Timeline
While the exact debut date remains uncertain, insiders suggest the Cayenne EV Coupe could be unveiled alongside the standard SUV as early as November 2025. Global deliveries are expected to begin in the second or third quarter of 2026, marking another milestone in Porsche’s electrification journey.
With its combination of breathtaking performance, cutting-edge charging tech, and a sleek coupe profile, the Porsche Cayenne EV Coupe is shaping up to be one of the most desirable luxury EVs of the decade.
