Three months after unveiling the third generation of its Q5 SUV, Audi has revealed the Q5 Sportback coupe, with orders opening on December 5, 2024. Prices will start at €59,750 for the 204 hp petrol version and will go up to €101,130 for the sporty SQ5 Sportback.
The Rise of Premium Coupe SUVs
Since the launch of the BMW X6 in 2008, coupe SUVs have become a popular alternative for premium customers seeking style and exclusivity. Building on the success of the previous Q5 Sportback, Audi now introduces a second, more refined version that boasts enhanced elegance and coherence.

Elegant Yet Practical Design
Audi’s designers have reimagined the lines of the Q5 Sportback to deliver a sleeker and more harmonious profile. The rear design, in particular, stands out with a subtly sculpted tailgate reminiscent of the sporty Audi TT. Gone are embellishments like the chrome strip linking the taillights; instead, this new model focuses on understated sophistication.
Despite its coupe styling, the Q5 Sportback remains practical, offering a luggage capacity ranging from 515 liters (five-seat configuration) to 1,415 liters (with rear seats folded). The sportier SQ5 Sportback provides slightly less space, with 470 liters to 1,388 liters available.

A Range of Electrified Powertrains
The Audi Q5 Sportback lineup will feature three trim levels: Design, Business Executive, and S line. Two four-cylinder engines will be available:
- 2.0 TFSI 204 hp (petrol), delivering 340 Nm of torque, available in both front-wheel drive and quattro all-wheel drive.
- 2.0 TDI 204 hp (diesel), offering 400 Nm of torque and equipped with quattro as standard.
At the top of the range, the SQ5 Sportback comes with a powerful 3.0 TFSI V6 engine producing 367 hp and an impressive torque of 550 Nm.
Standard Mild Hybrid Technology
All Q5 Sportback models will feature 48-volt mild hybrid technology (MHEV). This system temporarily adds 24 hp and 230 Nm of torque via an electric motor powered by a 1.7 kWh lithium-ion battery, promising more efficient and dynamic driving.
Audi has also announced the upcoming release of plug-in hybrid (TFSI e) versions with larger batteries capable of exceeding 100 km of all-electric range, marking a significant step forward for electrified SUVs.
