BMW M2 and Series 2 Coupe: Experience Enhanced Power and Refined Performance

The BMW Series 2 Coupe, now at the midpoint of its lifecycle, receives a subtle facelift. While the design remains unchanged, the lineup has been streamlined to a single trim level, and the M2 variant sees a boost in power. This second generation, launched in 2021, features an updated M2 version that debuted in 2023.

Performance Upgrade for the Series 2 Coupe

With this update, BMW emphasizes performance, delivering increased power that some enthusiasts feel contrasts with the simple and sleek design of the new BMW Series 2.

The refreshed Series 2 Coupe simplifies its offerings with a single M Sport trim, available with three petrol engine options: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder for the 220i (184 hp) and 230i (245 hp), along with a 3.0-liter inline-six for the 240i xDrive (374 hp).

On the diesel side, only the 220d with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 190 hp is available. All engines come paired with an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission, with prices ranging from €50,600 to €66,600.

Standard Equipment and Features

Standard equipment now includes a Sport automatic transmission with paddle shifters, Parking Assistant, electrically folding exterior mirrors, electrochromatic mirrors, ambient lighting, and a redesigned steering wheel with new paddle and vent designs.

The iDrive system incorporates “QuickSelect” with touch and voice controls, along with a menu bar for direct access to climate functions.

Enhanced Power for the BMW M2

The refreshed BMW M2 gains an additional 20 hp, bringing its total to 480 hp. It comes standard with an 8-speed automatic transmission, while a 6-speed manual transmission with a “Gear Shift Assistant” is available as an option. The M2 delivers a torque of 600 Nm and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4 seconds with the automatic version, and 550 Nm with the manual version.

With the launch of these models, power enthusiasts are well-served, especially in a market increasingly populated by hybrid and electric models, which may not deliver the same exhilarating speed and adrenaline that sports car lovers crave.
