The Rarest BMW M3 Lime Rock Park Edition Surfaces With Just 81 Miles – A Collector’s Dream

BMW’s legendary E9X-generation M3 holds a very special place in the hearts of enthusiasts. It was the last M3 ever powered by a naturally aspirated engine, and the only one in the model’s history to feature a high-revving V8. Compact, agile, and unapologetically raw, the E92 M3 remains one of BMW’s most celebrated modern classics.

Among them, the 2013 Lime Rock Park Edition stands at the very top of the food chain. Produced in extremely limited numbers, only 200 examples were ever delivered to the U.S. market, all finished in the striking Fire Orange paintwork. Now, one of the lowest-mileage and most pristine Lime Rock cars has hit the market — and it could be the best-preserved example anywhere.

A Time Capsule on Wheels

This specific Lime Rock Park Edition M3 has just 81 miles (130 km) on the odometer — that’s an average of 6.7 miles per year since it left BMW’s factory. To put it in perspective, it hasn’t even accumulated enough miles annually to complete five laps around the real Lime Rock Park circuit it was named after.

Not only is this car virtually untouched, but it also remains unmodified, with a clean Carfax history and no record of accidents or damage. For collectors, originality is king, and this example ticks every box.

Factory-Equipped for Performance

The Lime Rock Edition bundled the Competition Package straight from the factory. That meant lightweight 19-inch wheels, a lower suspension, and recalibrated damper and stability control settings, enhancing agility and track-readiness.

This particular car goes even further with the Premium Package, Cold Weather Package, a carbon fiber roof, Novillo leather upholstery, Alcantara flat-bottom steering wheel, and carbon/leather interior trim. It’s an interior that blends comfort, exclusivity, and motorsport inspiration.

The Heart of the Beast

Under the hood lies BMW’s S65 4.0-liter naturally aspirated V8, capable of producing 414 hp (309 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). Known for its 8,400-rpm redline and intoxicating sound, this engine was the swan song of the naturally aspirated M3 before BMW transitioned to turbocharged six-cylinders in the F80 generation.

Recent Maintenance & Auction Buzz

Despite its low mileage, the M3 has received important maintenance updates. In 2024, with just 45 miles on the clock, it received a new airbag assembly and a fresh battery. A new battery was also fitted recently to ensure reliability. The car still wears its original 2012-dated Michelin tires, which will need replacement before any spirited driving, given the dangers of running on aged rubber.

Included in the sale are both original keys, the factory window sticker, manuals, and documentation — everything a serious collector would expect.

With only a few days left in the Bring a Trailer auction, bidding has already surpassed $86,000, well above its original MSRP of $80,295. Considering the rarity and condition, many expect this Fire Orange time capsule to fetch a record price.

For enthusiasts who have always dreamed of owning an E92 M3 that feels brand new, this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance. You can view the full auction listing here before another collector secures it.
