Exeed Exlantix E05 Marks Chery’s Bold Global Expansion

Chery’s premium sub-brand Exeed is making waves on the global stage with the unveiling of its newest model, the Exeed Exlantix E05. Set to debut at the upcoming Munich Motor Show, this futuristic SUV highlights the Chinese automaker’s ambition to compete directly with European and international rivals. Unlike many Chinese domestic launches, the E05 is confirmed for international markets, showcasing Chery’s commitment to becoming a truly global player.

From the front, the Exlantix E05 gives off strong Porsche Macan vibes, though its intricate triple LED daytime running lights and vertically stacked headlamps give it a futuristic twist. The slim upper grille reinforces its EV identity, while the smooth lines across the hood and bumper provide an elegant yet athletic stance.

At the rear, the design becomes more robust, with a slightly bulbous tail section and understated LED taillights. Interestingly, the SUV also features a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, hinting at advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and semi-autonomous driving capabilities—features that position it as a modern rival to premium EVs like the Tesla Model Y and NIO ES6.

Dimensions and Platform

The Exeed Exlantix E05 measures 4,780 mm (188.1 inches) in length, 1,890 mm (74.4 inches) in width, and 1,725 mm (67.9 inches) in height, with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm (110.2 inches). These proportions put it firmly in the mid-size SUV segment, offering ample interior space while maintaining a sleek road presence. The SUV will launch with a range-extender powertrain, blending electric efficiency with combustion practicality, an approach that appeals to buyers in regions where charging infrastructure remains limited.

Minimalist Yet Tech-Focused Interior

Step inside, and the cabin of the E05 feels futuristic yet simple. In front of the two-spoke steering wheel sits a compact digital instrument cluster that prioritizes clarity. The centerpiece is a large infotainment touchscreen, complemented by an expansive passenger-side display, echoing setups found in high-end EVs like the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV.

The minimalistic layout reduces button clutter, emphasizing screen-based controls, ambient lighting, and advanced connectivity features. This approach shows Chery’s intent to position Exeed as a premium global challenger, capable of rivaling both European and American luxury EVs.

The Global Push

With its debut in Munich, Chery is signaling that Exeed is no longer just for the domestic market. The Exlantix E05 represents a strategic expansion into Europe and potentially North America, where demand for premium, tech-driven SUVs continues to surge. Backed by Chery’s growing R&D strength, this SUV could mark a turning point for how Chinese premium vehicles are perceived worldwide.
