Explore the 2024 Citroën C3 Aircross : A Compact SUV Redefining Style and Versatility

The 2024 Citroën C3 Aircross, unveiled on June 19, 2024, marks a significant turning point for this model. Citroën has completely redesigned this SUV to meet the needs of families, drawing inspiration from the Oli concept car presented in 2021.

A Bold New Design

The 2024 C3 Aircross stands out with its more squared and assertive design, featuring a horizontal hood and balanced proportions. It has grown by 23 cm compared to its predecessor, now measuring 4.39 meters in length, which enhances interior space and trunk capacity.

Available in petrol, electric, and mild-hybrid versions, the C3 Aircross offers two trim levels: You! and Max. The base You! version comes equipped with a 1.2L Turbo engine producing 100 horsepower and offers a good level of features for an attractive starting price of €19,400.

With its modern look, spacious interior, and impressive features, the new C3 Aircross aims to appeal to a wide family audience while remaining competitive in the urban SUV market.

What’s New in Design and Dimensions?

The 2024 C3 Aircross is clearly differentiated from the previous generation with a bold design and increased dimensions. It incorporates stylistic elements from the new C3, such as the three-point lighting signature and a prominent central logo, while emphasizing its robust appearance with significant size enhancements. At 4.39 meters long, it is almost 25 cm longer than its predecessor, gaining an additional 4 cm in width and 2 cm in height. This more squared silhouette reinforces its imposing and adventurous character. This growth was essential to distinguish it from the C3, which also adopted a more angular design. Overall, the C3 Aircross 2024 proudly showcases Citroën’s new stylistic codes, targeting a more family-oriented clientele.

Spacious Interior Design

The new Citroën C3 Aircross stands out for its spaciousness and clean interior design, inspired by the C3. Thanks to its elevated height and body contours, it provides rear passengers with more legroom than many competitors, despite having the same wheelbase as the Dacia Duster (2.67 m). The trunk offers a capacity of 330 dm³ in five-seat configuration, and an optional third row of seats can transform the vehicle into a 7-seater, although these additional seats are intended for occasional use and are best suited for smaller passengers.

The interior features the dashboard from the C3, with a 10.25-inch touchscreen available on higher trim levels. The simplicity of the controls, some of which remain physical, is appreciated, along with a head-up display at the base of the windshield showing only essential driving information.

Engine Options for the 2024 Citroën C3 Aircross

The new C3 Aircross shares its engines with its smaller sibling. The lineup begins with a 3-cylinder 1.2 turbo engine producing 100 hp paired with a manual gearbox, while the 136 hp hybrid version is expected to be the best-seller. This hybrid variant uses a Stellantis powertrain, featuring a 3-cylinder 1.2 engine with a variable geometry turbo, a Miller cycle, and a 21 hp electric motor powered by a 48V battery, all coupled with a dual-clutch automatic transmission. This setup provides 136 hp and reduces CO2 emissions to 124 g/km to minimize the purchase penalty. There’s also a fully electric version, the ë-C3 Aircross, equipped with a 44 kWh LFP battery and a 113 hp motor, offering an average range of around 300 km according to the WLTP cycle.

  • PureTech 100 hp manual 6-speed
  • Hybrid 136 hp automatic
  • Electric 113 hp – approximately 300 km WLTP range

Citroën aims to shake up the small SUV market, similar to what it achieved with its city cars like the C3. The new C3 Aircross PureTech 100 is priced at €19,400, while the hybrid starts at €25,500 and the electric version at €27,400 before CO2 bonuses. Manufactured in Slovakia, in Trnava, this European model will soon be available for order.
