The Hyundai Exter hasn’t been around for long, but it’s already getting a glow-up. First launched in 2023, this compact SUV just received a refresh in India, and honestly, it’s looking sharper while staying super affordable.
Subtle but smart design updates :
From the front, the Exter keeps its signature split LED headlights with that cool H-shaped look. But now, it gets a redesigned bumper, a bigger grille, and a cleaner front-end vibe overall. The Exter badge has also been repositioned higher, giving it a more confident stance.
On the sides, Hyundai added chunkier plastic cladding around the wheel arches for a more rugged feel. There are also new 15-inch alloy wheels, although they still look a bit small for the body. At the back, things get sportier with a double-wing roof spoiler and a cleaner design between the taillights. Bonus: new colors like Golden Bronze and Titanium Black Matte bring extra style points.
More tech, more comfort inside :
Step inside and you’ll notice a more modern cabin. The 8-inch infotainment system now supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto—finally! The interior also gets a fresh Navy Blue and Grey theme, plus a carbon-style dashboard finish.
Hyundai didn’t stop there. You now get a built-in dashcam, USB-C ports, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and even metal pedals. Comfort-wise, the driver’s seat height adjustment is now standard, along with six airbags, ESC, and hill-start assist.
Same engine, same practicality :
Under the hood, nothing changes. You still get a 1.2L petrol engine with 82 hp, or a CNG option for better fuel savings. Boot space is decent too—unless you go CNG, where it drops due to the tanks.
Still one of the cheapest SUVs out there :
Starting at just $6,200 and going up to $10,000, the Exter remains one of the best budget SUVs on the market. Affordable, stylish, and now smarter—it’s clearly aiming to dominate the entry-level SUV game.
