Porsche Unveils the New 911 Turbo S Hybrid at Munich IAA 2025: 711 HP, Nürburgring Record, and Everyday Comfort

At the 2025 Munich IAA Motor Show, Porsche has lifted the veil on the highly anticipated 911 Turbo S Hybrid, the first Turbo in history to feature high-performance hybridization. Delivering 711 horsepower, a blistering 7’03’’92 lap at the Nürburgring, and everyday usability, this new Turbo S cements its reputation as the ultimate all-round sports car.
For weeks, Porsche teased enthusiasts with cryptic images and a camouflaged prototype, hinting at a wide rear wing that immediately suggested something radical. And indeed, beneath the cover was the new 992.2-generation Turbo S, presented both as a coupe and convertible. Wider, sharper, and more muscular than ever, it retains the DNA that made the Turbo an icon: a car as comfortable on a race track as it is for a night out in the city. This time, however, the game-changer is electrification.
Hybrid Powertrain for Unprecedented Performance
At its heart, the new 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six is paired with Porsche’s advanced T-Hybrid system, first introduced on the 911 GTS. The system integrates two electric turbochargers and an electric motor inside the PDK transmission, boosting total output to 711 hp and 800 Nm of torque — 61 hp more than its predecessor.
Acceleration figures are staggering: 0–100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds, 0–200 km/h in 8.4 seconds, and a top speed of 322 km/h. Despite the additional 85 kg from hybrid components, this is the most powerful production 911 ever built. At the Nürburgring, the car shaved an incredible 14 seconds off the previous Turbo S, stopping the clock at 7’03’’92.
Unlike traditional hybrids focused on efficiency, the T-Hybrid system here prioritizes performance over fuel savings. Average consumption is rated at 11.6 l/100 km (WLTP), proving that Porsche’s hybridization is all about adrenaline rather than economy.
Design Evolution with Unique Turbo Identity
Visually, the 911 Turbo S 2025 stands apart. It is wider than the Carrera models, featuring enlarged side air intakes, a redesigned rear bumper with new ventilation ducts, and exclusive oval titanium exhaust outlets. A new pearlescent finish emphasizes the illuminated rear light bar, while signature “Turbonite” accents — a color reserved for Turbo models — appear on the Porsche logo, “Turbo S” script, and aerodynamic inserts.
New central-lock wheels add to the aggressive stance, while the dual-element rear wing combines a subtle “ducktail” base with a deployable and inclinable aerofoil above it. It’s a design both functional and instantly recognizable, making the Turbo S look more muscular while optimizing downforce.
Inside, Porsche continues to push luxury and exclusivity. Standard features include 18-way sport seats, HD Matrix LED headlights, and the Sport Chrono Package with tire temperature monitoring. Customization options are nearly limitless through Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, allowing customers to tailor their Turbo S down to the smallest detail.
Everyday Usability Meets Race-Track Credentials
Despite its performance, Porsche insists the Turbo S remains the most versatile 911 ever built. The chassis has been extensively re-engineered, combining active aerodynamics, enhanced PCCB carbon-ceramic brakes (now 410 mm at the rear), and the new PDCC electro-hydraulic system powered by a 400V network. This ensures control and stability in all conditions.
Frank Moser, Vice President of the 911 model line, described the car as “the most complete and versatile 911 ever. It’s just as comfortable on daily commutes and long highway journeys as it is on the track.”
Pricing and Availability
The Porsche 911 Turbo S Hybrid 2025 is available as a coupe starting at €271,000, while the cabriolet begins at €285,200. Customers can also opt for a 2+2 seating configuration at no extra cost. Deliveries are expected to begin in late 2025, with global markets eagerly awaiting the arrival of this groundbreaking hybrid supercar.
With its blend of extreme performance, luxurious comfort, and pioneering hybrid technology, the 2025 Turbo S sets a new benchmark for sports cars. For Porsche fans and rivals alike, one thing is clear: the 911 Turbo S Hybrid is here to redefine what a modern high-performance sports car should be.
