VW Dealers Showcase Upcoming Lineup: Tiguan Set for LA Auto Show Debut

Volkswagen dealers are buzzing with excitement as a variety of new and updated models loom on the horizon. Among the most anticipated are the facelifted Jetta and Taos, along with the all-new ID. Buzz. These updates mark a significant step forward for the brand, as dealers recently gathered for Volkswagen’s first nationwide meeting in years, held in Orlando.

During this event, it was confirmed that the redesigned Tiguan will make its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, with a market launch scheduled for June. The new Tiguan is expected to closely resemble the Tayron, which will be unveiled in its European specification at the upcoming Paris Auto Show. Notably, the new model is anticipated to be approximately 5.2 inches (133 mm) longer than the European Tiguan and will likely feature a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, offering a balance of performance and efficiency.

Charlie Hall, chairman of the Volkswagen National Dealer Advisory Council, expressed optimism regarding the new Tiguan’s potential. He stated, “If they can get the pricing right, we’re really going to have something to sell because it’s everything you would hope it would be.” This sentiment reflects a growing confidence among dealers as they prepare for the launch of this vital model.

Additionally, dealers were given a sneak peek of the redesigned Atlas. This revelation aligns with recent news from China, where the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology unveiled the new Teramont Pro, showcasing a more streamlined design featuring flush-mounted door handles and an aerodynamically optimized front end. The redesign aims to enhance both aesthetics and functionality, catering to the growing demand for modern crossovers.

Electric Vehicle Focus

As Volkswagen shifts its focus towards electrification, there were also glimpses of the next-generation ID.4 during the meeting. The ID.7, an electric mid-size sedan, was displayed, although updates regarding its U.S. launch were sparse. Originally slated for release this year, the ID.7’s launch has been delayed due to changing market dynamics, according to Volkswagen’s announcement made in May.

The company’s commitment to expanding its electric vehicle lineup is clear, and dealers are eager to embrace these advancements. As they gear up for the introduction of these exciting new models, the anticipation surrounding Volkswagen’s future offerings continues to grow.
