Carthago Tackles the Weight of Its Motorhomes

For the 2025 collection, the German manufacturer has focused its efforts on its entry-level C-Tourer, aiming to maximize the lightweight design of its vehicles. Additionally, Carthago offers two visions within the same series. Here’s an explanation.

Innovation for Market Challenges

Recognizing the commercial challenges of the season, particularly the forecasts of stable sales, the German brand sought to differentiate itself from the competition through innovation. Carthago has worked extensively on its C-Tourer T and I ranges, making them even lighter than previous models. Engineers have successfully reduced the overall weight of the vehicles by modifying components, such as the diesel tank (60 liters) and the gas compartment, which is now made from polypropylene. As a result, the brand can claim a maximum weight reduction of 100 kg, depending on the model. Available on Fiat or Mercedes chassis, these motorhomes fall under the C1-Tourer category. This entry-level range includes seven integral models and four profile models, with lengths ranging from 6.67 to 7.61 meters. The weight reduction allows all models to be offered at 3.5 tons of authorized total weight (lightweight) with four places on the registration card. A heavy-duty (4.5 tons) homologation is still possible with the Comfort models.

Expanding options with C2-Tourer

Carthago has also developed a sub-range called the C2-Tourer, which consists of integrals exclusively based on the Mercedes Sprinter chassis. This series includes five layouts, ranging from 7.20 to 7.40 meters in length, and is characterized by its narrow design (2.17 meters). Dubbed Smart Liner, these vehicles serve as a bridge to the world of larger liners.

Chic c-line and modernization Efforts

The Chic c-line series features six models built on Ducato and Sprinter chassis, available with two or three axles. With the strong presence of the Mercedes line, Carthago has revised its Chic c-line Superior range on the Fiat Ducato, introducing a new front design for a more modern appearance. The grille now boasts chrome elements that add character and elegance. The exterior look was another priority for the Chic e-line range, as Carthago believes that the interior atmosphere remains highly appreciated. While Fiat Ducato models remain unchanged, those on the Mercedes chassis feature a new (and lighter) front end and exclusive body decor. The goal is to present a more automotive spirit.

Continuity with Liner-for-Two

Finally, the Liner-for-two options (measuring 7.80 and 8.50 meters) remain available on Fiat AL-KO or Iveco Daily chassis. This product line remains unchanged, reflecting that “continuity is also a quality.”
