Morgan Supersport : Has the Iconic British Brand Finally Built a Top-Class Sports Car?

Morgan has undergone a remarkable evolution over the last two decades, and the new Morgan Supersport is a shining example of this transformation. Gone are the days when Morgans were charming yet crude, with wayward handling and long stopping distances. Back in 2004, the Roadster earned a two-star review for its unpredictable driving dynamics. Later, the aluminium-chassis Plus 8 (2012) made strides, but critics still found it “not all the car it should and could be.”

The real turning point arrived in 2020 with an all-new bonded aluminium platform. While the Plus Four and Plus Six initially lacked refinement, continual updates improved liveability, handling, and performance, slowly bringing Morgan closer to mainstream sports car standards.

Now, the Supersport takes a giant leap forward. Originally conceived as a Plus Six facelift, it evolved into an all-new model generation. The chassis and suspension have been re-engineered, and liveability has been significantly enhanced. Features such as a fully adjustable suspension, locking differential, and optional roof and boot mean that the Supersport now competes with modern sports cars in terms of practicality and driving enjoyment.

With a focus on structural rigidity, improved aerodynamics, and refined powertrain options, Morgan has created a car that delivers not just classic British charm, but also modern performance, handling precision, and comfort. The Supersport may finally be the first Morgan of the 21st century that rivals its contemporaries in every sense, blending heritage with cutting-edge engineering.
